But this family owned and operated business has its roots in the Toledo Cut Stone Company which was begun almost 100 years ago!
The Toledo Cut Stone Company was founded by Ernest L. Krueger, who first entered the natural stone business in 1909 as a sidewalk contractor. Ernest L. Krueger’s very first building was a 10' x 10' lean-to shed and he used horses to transfer the stones.
Ernest L. "Butch" Krueger is the president and founder of Design Memorial Stone Service. Since 1977, he has been overseeing the production and sale of granite monuments and markers, bronze plaques, pet markers, memory bricks, address blocks, granite and limestone signs, garden art, final date cemetery lettering, diamond and laser etching and custom engraving on natural stone products.
Design Memorial Stone Service now has the largest inventory of granite monuments, markers and benches in northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. We have more than 100 granite monuments, markers and benches in various sizes, styles and colors in stock in our Maumee, Ohio facility.
